The competence of nurse educators and graduating nurse students

A nurse educator has an important role in promoting students' learning and professional development as well offering high quality nursing education. To describe the competence of educators explore its connection with self-evaluated graduating students. cross-sectional survey design was used. total 1796 students Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania Spain participated this study. The data were collected structured electronic or paper-and-pencil questionnaires. Graduating evaluated educators' using six items derived from Tool for Evaluation Requirements Nurse Teacher (ERNT) addition, their own generic Nursing Competence Scale (NCS). analysed statistically. On average, to be rather high. Icelandic Irish highest. German Finnish most critical. also level good. higher competence, they competence. Students' evaluations seem aligned. However, warrants further studies.
